Dudley Museum

The Launch of the WW1 Commemoration Exhibition at Dudley Museum on Monday 4 August 2014.

I worked as an intern trainee curator with Dudley Museum Service from February 2014 until 1 August 2014.

During that time I worked at The Redhouse Glass Cone Museum, Himley House, Broadfield House Glass Museum and Dudley Museum.

At Dudley Museum I was heavily involved with the First World War Commemoration Exhibit.

This opened on 4 August, and I, with members of Staffordshire Living History, went on the opening day to display weapons and kit of the period and to talk to visitors.

The display has many original items from the Great War that have been loaned to the museum.  The highlight is the trench system built in the gallery.

It is intended to have a rolling exhibition, with items being replaced regularly to reflect changes in the war.

There is an emphasis on local involvement in the conflict.

The exhibition runs until 11 November 2018.
