Sainsbury's Christmas Advert 2014

I spent a week filming in the Trench system near Ipswich

Interesting time filming a Christmas Truce scene wearing greatcoats, balaclavas, scarves and gloves (not to mention the goat), ankle deep in fake snow, with the temperature in the mid to high 20s.  The filming took place 2 - 5 September in Taff Gillingham's trenches at Akenham.

The advert was kept a secret until the first screening - filling the whole ad break between the two parts of Coronation Street on Wednesday 12 November 2014 (at about 19:45).

The advert was known only as "Project 14", and all aspects of the production were a closely guarded secret, including the Director - Ringan Ledwidge.

The advert theme was "Christmas is for Sharing", and is set around the 1914 Christmas Truce.  The specially produced chocolate bar featured in the ad is being sold in stores, with 50p from each bar being donated to The Royal British Legion.

The advert marks the 100th Anniversary of the Christmas Day Truce and also the 20th Anniversary of the partnership between Sainsburys and The Royal British Legion

Below are some images from the videos.
