We specialise in Victorian and Great War periods, although we will consider events outside these periods.

Our Education Branch is available to be booked to visit schools and other groups.

The Birmingham Pals are a group of dedicated military and social history enthusiasts whose aim it is to educate the public about different aspects of the Great War.

 

 

Re-enacting the Royal Navy 1879 to 1919

The Bluejackets society was set up in 2001 to re-create the naval landing parties of the Victorian era. Since then we have added the Royal Navy and Royal Naval Division of World War One to our range of re-enactments.

We are a Guildford based re-enactment society founded in 2004, and we are unique in portraying both the regular and volunteer battalions of one of the British Army's oldest regiments.

The Tommy Atkins Historical Society is a living history group dedicated to portraying the life of the everage British infantryman from a county regiment during World War 2.

In addition to the group’s main impression of the Leicestershire Regiment during the Second World War the Tommy Atkins Society has a section that represents the average “Tommy” of the Great War.

 

 

The uniformed section of the Palmerton Forts Society is the Portsdown Artillery Volunteers (PAV) who dress as the 2nd Hampshire Volunteer Artillery from the 1880’s to carry out authentic Victorian gun drills at Fort Nelson and other locations

The MLAGB was formed in 1952 and is the Governing Body for muzzle loading within the UK.


Its objectives are to encourage an interest in muzzle loading firearms; to promote, regulate and safeguard their use; and to preserve their freedom of collection.

 

 

The Gordon Highlanders 1914-18 exist to re-create as accurately as possible the life of the soldiers of the Gordon Highlanders during the Great War 1914-18.

 

 

The aim of the society is to educate members of the public through professional living history displays here at home and also overseas.

We strive to encourage and promote interest and understanding of ALL Irish Regiments involved with the First World War and up to partition. As well, we hope, to remind people of the sacrifices made by Irishmen and their families in what was believed to be the war to end all wars.
