Redhouse Glass Cone

A small multi-period event, held at the Redhouse Glass Cone Museum on Sunday 10 August 2014.

On Sunday 10 August 2014 I went to The Redhouse Glass Cone at Wordsley to take part in a small multi-period event with other members of the Staffordshire Living History group.

Due to the very wet stormy weather for most of the day there were comparatively few visitors compared with the day before.

I went as a Corporal Armourer of the First World War - other members of the group went as a Victorian Soldier of 1879, a Royal Marine of 1900 and Suffragettes.

I took a selection of rifles and muskets, representing the main weapons used by the British Infantry from the 17th century to the 1960s, together with bayonets and other items of kit.

Other periods represented at the event were Medieval and Napoleonic.

The medieval display included displays of arrows, clubs and swords and armour, including a copy of that worn by Richard III.
