Royal Star and Garter Homes
100th Anniversary Fete

Sunday 21 August 2016

On 21 August I visited The Royal Star and Garter Home in Solihull with The Birmingham Pals to mark the Centenary of the founding of the charity.

The first Star and Garter Home in Richmond opened its doors to the first residents on 14 January 1916, under the auspices of the British Red Cross, to care for the severely disabled young men returning from the battlegrounds of the First World War.

Today the Homes continue to provide outstanding nursing and therapeutic care to the ex-Service community.
