Spetchley Park - Military M5 Festival 2012 - "When History Comes Alive"

Over 500 years of British Military History

In August 2012 many Living History and re-enactment groups met at Spetchley Park to portray over 500 years of history.

I attended as a part of The Anglo-Boer War group,
re-enacting a skirmish typical of the First Boer War.

The Anglo-Boer War Stafford's skirmish centred around the story of a small scout party who were surprised by a Boer Commando group.

Two drummer boys had been sent to collect firewood, and were shot by the Boers. There followed a brief encounter during which the Boers used their skills and knowledge of the area to overcome the British troops.
