Spetchley - M5 Multi-period

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2015

Over the weekend of the 15th and 16th August The Birmingham Pals were at Spetchley, near Worcester for the annual multi-period.

Over the two days wehad displays of military equipment in the Living History camp.

We also staged demovstrations of drill and participated in marches and arena displays. Bill put on his display of Tunnelling and Mine Rescue equipment and talked to the public about the techniques and equipment used at the front. The German section of The Birmingham Pals gave us an enemy to engage during battle scenes.

The Trench Pals portrayed medical life and also displayed Australian uniform and kit.

As it was the last major event with The Birmingham Pals before James's 18th birthday we had a small celebration with cake a few days early.

The M5 Event at Spetchley covered history from the Greeks and Romans up to World War 2.
