On Sunday 27 July 2014 I went to Tunstall Park in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent to take part in an event to commemorate the First World War with other members of The Birmingham Pals.

Although billed as a Great War event, there were displays from several other periods including the First Boer War (portrayed by the Anglo-Boer War Staffords) and the Second World War (including a Spitfire).

The Birmingham Pals gave arena displays of drill, weapons (including Vickers and Lewis machine guns and "The Mad Minute"), kit, Suffragettes, and talks about conditions during the war.
